Greed pollutes. Given time, greed destroys everything its tentacles touch, and the economic or moral house of cards collapses. History has taught us this simple fact many times over, yet America is currently elevating greed to the status of a virtue. “If it enriches me, it’s good for everyone,” appears to be a prevalent mantra.
It is time to stand up, fight back and advocate for a return to decency and the common good. We intend to write about the many ugly heads greed is raising in our society. We will castigate greed. We will check all information scrupulously and write clearly.
Finally, we will not be intimidated by a classic ploy used by cheaters at poker games. Caught red-handed, the cheater turns on his accusers and brazenly states, “Are you accusing me of cheating?” The tables are turned, and the victims of the card scam are intimidated into silence.
We are not afraid to say that greedy people are cheating America out of the democratic system of government so many of us cherish. We have no desire to live in a plutocracy.
Greed is the Ace of Spades. Greed, not the deficit, is the death card to our democracy.
